Environment

Denholm Industrial Services Division recognises the potential impact its operations may have upon the environment.  In direct response to this the Division demonstrates it’s commitment by implementing a management system that is aligned with the international standard ISO 14001.  This commitment is outlined below:

The Division will manage its activities and any detrimental effects they might have on the environment.  The Division will encourage all employees to participate actively in the protection of the environment for future generations. 

The Division will seek to identify any risks of pollution rising from any of its activities and set objectives and targets to control the risks.   Target setting will be regularly reviewed by the operational managers to ensure progressive and continual improvement. 

All activities will be carried out in conformance with current statutory and legislative requirements as well as meeting the objectives of our parent company J & J Denholm and involved stakeholders. 

The Division will reduce to minimum levels the use of materials, resources and energy at every opportunity and will also apply this practice to appraisals in the sourcing of raw materials. 

Waste will be reduced to the lowest possible level and disposal will be considered and controlled. Specific commitment will be made to developing new technology to reduce the impact of hazardous wastes produced, e.g. as part of cleaning operations arising from LSA Scale and sand decontamination services.

The Division will seek to ensure that products and/or services provided by third parties can be used, handled, stored, maintained and disposed of in manner that safeguards the environment. 

We will provide training and support for all employees with regard to this policy and encourage other companies to adopt a similar approach. 

Any person working on behalf of the Division will be made aware of and will comply with this policy and management systems.  The Policy will also be made available to the public upon request.
